Nurse and Warden Call Systems
Nurse Call / Call Systems
Call Systems are an essential tool to allow people who need help or assistance to alert staff. They are used in many settings, from Residential Homes which have large extensive systems to small shops which have a simple disabled toilet alarm.
They are available in conventional, addressable, and wireless systems.
Conventional call systems are predominantly used in small and simple buildings. They consist of a panel, with location text of the alarm points in the building and when activated, a buzzer will operate, and a light will illuminate next to the alarm location. They are activated by the person needing assistance in a number of different methods, including pull cords, neck pendants, door monitors, pressure pads and many more. Conventional systems can also be expanded to accommodate other ancillary equipment e.g. door lights and door release relays.
Addressable call systems work in exactly the same way as a conventional system, but they can be used in larger buildings. This is because, instead of a simple locations light on a panel, they have a led display, which informs the staff of the exact location of the call. Addressable systems can also be zoned with repeater panels, so that the call will alert staff in the immediate area; this allows for a quicker response.
Wireless systems can either be conventional or addressable, but allow for coverage in buildings which have hard to reach areas or are unable to have cables installed due to historical protection or asbestos
